Mission Statement
Welcome to Rose Salgado Elementary School: A New Legacy Begins in San Jacinto
On August 7, 2025, a new chapter began for the San Jacinto Unified School District with the grand opening of Rose Salgado Elementary School, the district’s newest educational home for young learners. Located at 600 N. Vernon Avenue near the Ramona Expressway, this state-of-the-art campus will welcome its first 550 students across preschool, transitional kindergarten (TK), and grades K-5.
As one of nine elementary schools in the district, Rose Salgado Elementary sits on an expansive 12.5-acre campus thoughtfully designed to inspire learning, growth, and community. The school features a modern administrative office, a beautiful multi-purpose room with a stage and theater curtains and a grand library filled with opportunities for imagination and discovery. In addition, thoughtfully designed outdoor learning spaces will give students new ways to engage with nature, collaborate, and extend their learning beyond the classroom walls.
Each classroom is fully equipped with cutting-edge tools to support 21st-century learning. Students and teachers benefit from two LG touch screen TVs per room, a wireless document camera, and a remote teacher workspace that provides flexibility to move freely and interact throughout the classroom. Teachers also have access to LG Gram laptops for mobility and performance, while students enjoy a 1:1 device program, ensuring every learner is equipped with their own digital tool to engage in personalized, interactive instruction. These features allow for a dynamic and flexible learning environment that meets the needs of today’s digital learners.
From day one, students will enjoy age-appropriate playgrounds—one tailored for even our youngest students and another for older grades. The blacktop is bustling with opportunities for play and teamwork, including basketball courts, handball walls, tetherball courts, four square, hopscotch, and a large jungle gym. Our playground includes 12 swings, 3 Merry-Go Rounds, interactive music instruments, a zipline, and an Aero Glider. The expansive field offers both a baseball diamond, kickball field, and a soccer field.
But beyond the facilities, this school carries something even more powerful: a legacy.
A School Built on the Legacy of Rose Salgado
More than just a new school, Rose Salgado Elementary is a tribute to a woman whose life was a beacon of strength, compassion, and service. A proud Soboba Tribal Member, tribal council leader, and long-time school board member, Rose Salgado’s influence was deeply felt across the San Jacinto Valley.
To those who knew her, she was not only a leader but also a loving family member, a wise mentor, and a fierce advocate for her community. She was known for her honesty, her warmth, and the way she quietly showed up—whether with flowers, kind words, or a listening ear. Her life was filled with laughter, challenge, and purpose, and she never wavered in her belief in the power of education and equity.
Now, her name graces a school built to reflect the very values she lived by: community, courage, and connection. Every classroom is a continuation of her work. Every student walking these halls is a part of her story.
At Rose Salgado Elementary, students will be empowered to grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially. They will be part of a school where belonging matters, where diversity is honored, and where dreams are encouraged.
Here, We Are Rose Salgado
At the heart of our school is more than curriculum—it is a shared identity shaped by our namesake’s legacy. We are strong. We are genuine. We are a family.
We are Rose Salgado.
Welcome to the beginning of something extraordinary!
